Prescot Cables v Trafford Programme

I had known for at least a week that Prescot Cables would have home advantage in the semi-finals of the play-offs; what I didn't know was the opposition, as this was decided by the final set of matches.

This issue - the last of the season, as it turned out - was put together over Saturday and Sunday evenings, helped by my counterpart at Trafford sending through their pen-pictures at lightning speed and by a brilliant historical article by Roy McDonald, which I had saved for this issue.

A group of Cables supporters had been given space in the Liverpool Senior Cup Final and offered to do a piece for this match; this will hopefully become a regular feature next season.

The match itself was a belter, played out in front of 695 spectators, including a noisy contingent from Trafford. Prescot dominated the game and eventually won 3-0 to book a place in the Final, away to fourth placed Bamber Bridge.
